work
Lol. Yeah ok, I could say stuff about work, but Ill pass on the moment. I cba talking about it, been weird.

moneys
Can afford Harleys now. By end of January with some overtime moneys should be safe enough to swap priority over to paying off overdraft before commencing saving again. Nice to have a saving amount now, can reprioritise saving amount to spread it around it a bit instead. Less focused on getting the numbers up and more possiblitiy of random spend and treats etc. of course I say that and then Ill just be like usual and save save save rah. Though I randomly want to buy a 1/6th resident Evil figure 5 figure at the moment and thats about £130. The company I got shares through has been taken over by a new company so Im debating getting my cash back and slinging it back into savings. need to read through the paperwork and see if I have a mimimum period in which I have to invest etc or if I can just bail now. thats been on my to do list for a week or so.

Avatar
Holy crap. Best special effects ive ever seen. Want to bang Neyitri or hwatever she was called, and eat food off her stomach. Also want to go to Pandora and run about a lot, fly on raptor things. Amusing to read /TV? on 4chan discussing it too. Seems everyone also fancies her and feels bad about doing so. has created some random pandora seperation anxiety when people realise that their lives are empty and they want to experience what jake Sully does in the movie. A new life, acceptance, new envronment, new body etc. rahg

gym
Went back up to 74kg. Could lift silly amounts compared to when I was 69kg. Looked no different for exception of stronger looking chest. Due to random work stress/worry going home for a week, being ill for a week and not taking all sorts of suppliments Ive been taking Im back to 72kg. happier with that as I was still able to lift some of the weights just not full sets. Going to push at it and set new stupid target. lets call it... urmm Operation Pandora Alomar for no good reason and say... hrm... be stronger, less fat or whatever by the second week of Febuary. Tbh who cares. Just be harder faster stronger black kate moss tonight like usual.

XBAWX
To the exclusion of pretty much every thing else Ive been playing Call of Duty Modern warfare 2. Im level 67 atm. Going to try and get 68 this evening and hopefully enter pretiege mode by say.. tuesday. Which should be easy as with the gym having retricted hours over the new year and me working i wont be able to go. I knew that would happen. Stupid additcive personality.

stuff
Fucking HATE riding motorbikes in the snow/ice. Seriously, its horrible fear inducing death madness. that didnt stop me looking at an assortment of motorbikes the other day. Was randomly happy agoin the other day. I mean full on euphoric for no goddamn reason again. Infuriating. Fortuantely i went mopey again in a couple of days so was better able to deal with that.

work socials
Have had several this month. Have been enjoyable to an extent, but me being me means I always end up mopey after wards.

Supernatural
best TV show Ive seen in ages. Porked my way through 4 seasosn on DVD and have seen random episodes of season 5 upsatirs.

more stuff!

erm, I bought a new coat with my xmas moneys and feel all poncy and smart. Oh and Ive tidied up the shelves in my room a bit. Not sure if I like it yet. need something to fill the space wher I moved a shelf as it looks odd. maybe a plant..

im sure I will do a "year in review" at somepoint in the next few days. Which i am sure no one will read. Huzzah

Cornwallz [14 Nov 2009|05:53pm]
Back In Cornwall

So far today I have walked my sisters dog, Played with my sisters Guinea pigs, watched a few episodes of Sky Plused Star trek with my dad, watched "gone in 60 seconds" with my dad, talked about guns (such as when my dad fired a magnum back in the 70s), talked about Chevy Impalas and Ice Hockey Oh and been food shopping to Morrisons. Ive also pawed at the gun cabinet under the stairs and bought some more beer.

I am also pleased to discover there is still some Jack Daniels left from the last time I visited.

I've also played some more with my sisters dog while lounging around the house, wrestling a ball with the dog.

Apparently I also have to mention my mother who has just called me a cheeky sod for not mentioning her yet.

Furrys on the BBC. [13 Nov 2009|03:22pm]
Some of you furfags might have already seen this. If not theres an artical on the BBC webiste about furrys and the like.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/8355287.stm

I assume its already done thr rounds on websites that those of you into the scene read. I thought some others might like to see it anyway if they were not aware. I skip read most of it, but I assume it will be halfassedly written and look down on the scene somehow even though it tries to come accross as understanding.

wicked witch of the west [29 Oct 2009|10:24am]
Dreamt that I was in the Broadway Musical Wicked the othernight. It was one of those spur of the moment things. I was supposed to be playing Elphaba and only had 3 days top learn all the lines and songs. To make matters worse I was only given the script on the plane flight over. Sure I could half ass my way thrugh the songs ok with an autoprompt, but I was mainly worried about knowing all the lines and when to say them.

oh the horror!

Fortunately dispite bricking it for most of the dream when I got there it was all ok as the understudy did it instead and I was extremely releived.

Not quite sure as to this dreams meaning.

£12 to last till payday woo [21 Oct 2009|12:27pm]
Hmm i seem to have spent an alarming amount of money on nothing in particualr this month as I am now quite quite skint until payday. WEll i say alarming.. what i mean is alarming for me.. because on account of my cave dwelling hermit like evening activities a typical month I dont spend much at allll.

I should have been able to save £60 this month which was stuff I technically bought l;ast month as I hadnt been paid yet. ADditionally i also had to transfer in £50 from random savings to tide me over and I was expecting to be able to put some back.. boo

lets have a look:

Gym related food stuffs :£80
Cinema £8
phone credit top up £10
Random foods whilst out and about twon :15
Pizza hut: £15
Birthday TGIs: £25
Chinese Buffets : £20
Socialising/drinking £40
Tshirt £12

bah! Who'd have friends eh..

Ive also been paid too much this month. Well, Im due to be paid on friday but I have the payslip and they have paid me again for the leave I sold back last month. Not sure how they want to work that out. Either I keep it all this month and get less next month or I can pay them back a little bit each month for the next few months. Neither way is particualrly ideal but I lik the idea of having extra cash this month seeing as its an almost identical amount to what I usually save so THEORETICALLY next month if I save it this month I wont be in the shit.

work outing [18 Oct 2009|03:23pm]
[ mood | cold ]

Trying to think of anything interesting I have been doing since the last update. Shocking its nothing of note.

Spent the last few days of my weekoff hanging about With Rod who came back from Canada last weekend. Met up with Ros from the magical land of anime cons last week too. She just moved here for attending Uni so we had a pizza hut lunch and a bit of a random shop.

Work outing
Went out with some chums from work yesterday night. Havent been out since March. DOnt remember the last time I went out on a Saturday either. its about as bad as I remember it. We started off in Weatherspoons which was crowded and too hot. the westgate was more comfortable, spaced out nicly freshy redecorated and had some funky cocktails. I cba with having anything that took too long to make so after a Jim bean, and a soco and coke (no JD) I opted for a Midori. It was very sweet and bright green (hence the name). Was actually fairly nice, but debateable that it was worth £6. I would have been better off with a cocktail!

We went clubbing after our pub shennaigans and ended up in Poo na na. This wasnt so bad as it is atleast somehwere I am familiar with on account of it being the same venue as the rock nights I attend. They had a crap DJ though who whacked the base up too high that most songs were unrecognisable until the chorus. they also did that clever thing where they mix several songs together. yes yes, your very talented and muscial... now play the songs back to back instead of mixed please so people can dance instead of feeling cheated they got up for one song that was mixed into 2 other songs that they had to dance through before you actually played the song that got everyone on the floor.

hnnnrgh

Anyway I found a phone
managed to also find the battery and get it working well enough to phone the number in the contacts this morning that was listed as "home". Spoke to some girls mother and dropped off the phone to her place of work. Was dissapointed that this didnt make me feel all useful and good etc. Didnt even get to speak to the person whose phone it was as I gave it to someone else who worked there who identified me as "ah the guy who is dropping off yasmines phone".

ho hum!

In other news negativity! But I never write about that even if I feel it cos no one wants to know!

Also its freezing in here

Random updates, Fear 2, birthday, stuff [11 Oct 2009|02:10pm]
well here we are, being all 31 an all.

Birthday celebrations
I'd like to thank all those chums who came to my "party". I wasnt planning on anything really, but a few friemnds from work wanted to come over seing as they couldnt make it last year. So I ended up with about 13 people or so making it over for some Rock Band and a follow up TGIs.

I think it was 90% myself [info]zerebubus, [info]elharbinger who did any of the singing for the exception of Ellie from work. But it was a nice few hours singing, eating Cheezy poofs and drinking. Plus the meal as always was great and a very reasonable £200 ish for the lot of us. Even I was defeated by my ribs and only BARELY managed to consume all my food. I blame a lifestyle of eating powdered food.

On the subject of Birthday I obtained the following phat loots as gifts from various friends.

MOD 24hour ration kit
NATO issue matches
Cheezy Poofs
Pink alcohol
"how to survive just about anything" guide.
FEAR 2
STALKER: Clear Sky
Fast and Furious
Monies
Nice card from work signed by most of my work chums
A Caterpillar Cake! (that struggled under the weight of 31 coandles).

So thanks to all for your fabulous gifts and I may say you suckers sure know me!

Gaming
As is evidnet by me not shutting up about STALKER and my sudden interest in Russian Cold war era Military surplus im STILL playing through Oblivion Lost mod version of it. though I have now safely got myself to the point when all that remains is to head to The reactor at ground zero and finish the game. I say "all that remains", but thats still a few hours worth. So im back at 100 RADS bar, so I cant just ass about doing hit man missions and deciding if I want to join FREEDOM or DUTY faction.

FEAR 2.
Pleased that my PC can run it. makes me feel glad I spunked £900 on a PC last year and Im actually sitting around 800gigs of harddrive space remaining instead of 850.

So its good to have naked women chasing after me for a change. Even if they want to strip my skin off and set me on fire. I have jumped a few times and been all "wahhhhh unsettling". But I DO like this kind of crap in games. Woo. No idea how far through I am, but i did get to piloit an Elite mech for 5 mins and blow the shit out of people

ISNT SHEEEE LOOOOOVELYYY!

Ill get around to playing my Stalker game in a few days when Ive finished fear.

Im currently on my break so Im at the gym a lot and enjoying being able to exercise the shit out of myself in operation full reverse

that seems to be going well, but I imagine that the extra weight gane I have is a combination of water retention based on the Creatine I am taking. That siad I have increased my lifting and am Punishing myself at the gym to make th e most of the supplements I am currently flooding myself with. (all perfectly legal if you were wondering). So FUCK YEAH EXERCISE IS EVERYWHERE PUSH IT PUSH IT BLACK KATE MOSS TONIGHT HNNNRGH!

operation Mansion
Hmm not really mantion yet. But im sitting at around £5k. Will attempt to hit 6k by XMAS and then swap to paying over overdraft for 3 months then back into saving hard sagin. BUT im kinda wanting to treatmyself to a Playstation 3 and aflat screen TV of somesort. So ill have to wait and see.

ANYWAY!

Rod is back from his canada excursion and Imma go see Zombie land with him ion a bit. Fuck yeah!

i leave you with this.

For now thou Shower!

TLDR

Im 31 got cool stuff for birthday, and Im playing games a lot. Byes

tralala [04 Oct 2009|01:04pm]
Saw a bike gang today on the way back from the gym.

About 6 ish cruisers, one small L plated 125 and a Trike. I assume they were all heading to that pub out out upper bristol road that I sometimes jog past. Anyway it was cool cos it was just a wall of large bike engine noise.

My Domain seems to be iffy at the moment. It doesnt look like its because its not being paid for, but my email and what not isnt working. Was working just fine yesterday. Today though it seems that it keeps asking me for my passwords. When I go to the actual site its down with an error message. The other domain is working and its through the same people so meh . Ill see if it fixes itself by tomorrow as apparently its just out of whack for a bit. usually catches up with itself and realises/self corrects. But Im not expecting it to do so untill a weekeday.

magic boots! [03 Oct 2009|02:37pm]
[ mood | awake ]

After an evening being annoyed that I must have thrown them away I remembers that I had a load of crap in the garage.

Sure enough as well as a few assorted peices of motorbike related clothing I never wear I had my faithful old magic boots there. Covrered in a bit of mould and rusting ever so slightly.

After a bit of TLC and a polish I have restored them to more or less thier former glory.

behold!

I havent threaded the extra buckles correctly, but I was planning on making the toung normal lentgh anyway. I used to wear these babies clubbing etc back when I used to frequent goth clubs in shiny PVC stuff, and fishnet/crochet tops back in 1998 ish.

Then New rocks becaoem far more widespread and I got a pair of those instead which lasted me till 2003 of so when I stopped wearing them and switched to skater related flats or allstar hi tops.

For those wondering whey they are "MAGIC" it is because that is the brand. Much like Nike is. Magic were a UK based boot manufacturer popular in the Goth and fetish subcultures.

Now to trim the stupidly large tounge down to a sensible length and use them as normal shoes. wooo

Bristol, stalker fun, cats and clothes [29 Sep 2009|10:17pm]
[ mood | calm ]

STALKER - Oblivion Lost mod

I have been ebertainingmyself by replaying STALKER with the oblivion lost mod. its much much harder as a result but is more realistic and more fun to play.

The main changes are the REQUIREMENT to eat and sleep. Bandages and food now only stop bleeding and keep you fed as apposed to heal you. It makes you much more stalkery. You just cant afford a head on assault so you go for head shots and stealth to take down people BEFORE they get you.

Other changes are the inclusion of some freaky new mutants, some long past it zombies, some cats, freaky fucked up mumbling dwarve things. The enemies now interact with each other on a far bigger scale, randomly invading each others territory and fighting even when you are not about. Several times i SHAT Myself when I heard gunfire in the safety of a twon so I went to investigate naked with barely any equipment and a bunch of hooded stalkers were killing the NPCS! Shocking.

there is also the small issue of BLOWOUTS. When the reactor blows randomly once every day or so and you HAVE to get underground or you die. This is a nice touch as when the ground starts rumbling and the sky turns red everyone and I do mean EVERYONE stops what they are doing and just runs for cover. Nice touch, but annoying when you are outside and trying to find cover.

Oh there are shit loads of new guns to play with too. Plus they upped the realisim of the damage so my Modified AK rapid with PSO scope and silencer is more useful at later stages of the game. that said I stumbled on a FN 2000 and now use that as my main weapon.

Smaller additions such as increased carry weight, ammo weighing less and being able to carry smaller guns OTHER than pistols in the secondary weapon shot make it alltogether more believeable.

Ill be replaying stuff forever!

new clothes

On account of the Autumn season coming in recently I have actually been able to aquire clothes in NORMAL clothes shops that i like. Seems dressing like a neon CLOWN isnt cool anymore and good ol' military is back in. Huzzah! After paying £500 for my MOT recently I thought "fuck it" in terms of hitting a certain target in saving sthis year and blew about £200 on some new threads. I now have 2 new pairs of "best" jeans. A nice new shirt, an assortment of new thsirts and some random other bits and bobs.

Most of that came from either NEXT or River island.

we are siamese if you please. and if you dont please well tough, cos we are still siamese
Was heading out to work on monday ish and the two cats from across the road were on the wall next to my bike. They seemed to watch me and not really be bothered much so I went back in and took a photo. The darker one occasionally follows me home when I have coleslaw as I gave it some once and it also is the one that ate all my chikanz when I was tinkering with my bike. Cant get a good shot of thier eyes with the flash on, but pics without it look crap so this is teh best I could get.

Bristol day of fun
Went to Bristol today to look for a new coat. Couldnt find anything I liked amssively, but still had a good time there. Got a nice buffet pizza for lunch and had a look in Fowlers motorcycle shop. Woo for 2010 stuff. All the 2008 stuff is nice and cheap.

Also HALP! BMWS are suddenly appealing a couple of nice second hand 1200 tourers at a reasonable price. There was also a BUELL Ulyses there too (1200cc harley engine) and a crap load of KTM 990 adventures ranging from £7000-10000 second hand up to the type R version.

Operation full reverse
Getting any lower than 69kg seems like I'd have to not eat crap at all. No treats, no nothen! well fuck that. Instead I have decided to just get stronger. Tune in next month to see if any changes to lifting etc.

new shirt, stalker, work rant, zombie bolt hole [20 Sep 2009|05:09pm]
Did some archiving at work on friday. This basically means carrying large boxes up some stairs into a locked room upstairs in the lab complex. Its what youd expect to find in any of the resident Evil games. We have cool stuff like a plant room, the sort of weird electronic room full of pumps and stuff supplying the water. A room full of paperwork form the last 6 years. A few small generators and a large room with suspended walkway type roofing that is just above the non structural tiles off the lab roof.

I LIKE going up there. In my SHTF scenario thats where Im going to live. I will push all the archives down the only stairwell effectively blocking the door. Then I can make some kind of rope climb type way to get back up there myself. Then I have my own balcony too. The coolest thing though was this time I went up there I was shown a room within a room that i didnt even know was there! Awesome. I had to unscrew some stuff and then there was a small hole in the wall big enough to fit through on your hands and knees. Within that hole was a very small room about as wide as a single bed. The head height was maybe 4.5ft (slanting) and at the end the room was about 5 foot wide. Its the perfect place to sleep and keep your mattress. You even had air ducts and ventalation fanz bigger than your head making that wummp wummp wummp noise continously in there for added atmosphere.

I enjoyed going in there and having a look around. I can live up there with all my crap when zombies take over the world and I can eat the fish and rabbits I catch locally.

OR i can go make a house in one of the sewage treatment plant towers. My own house in a 50foot tall concrete protected barrier. Now I just need to be able to get in and out...

Today I bought a new shirt for a training course I need to go too at work next week. Dispite the fact I think it will be a big waste of time and effort and takes me out of the lab on a week when NO ONE is about as they are either on holiday or also on a stupid training course it does mean I will finish work at 4pm on Tuesday instead of 7:30. score! I also get lunch provided. Work will hav eto do without ALL the trainers who are at the course so no one can get trained while the company is wasting £300 per person to send us on a training course we dont need so they can keep the training budget for next year.

I hate that kind of thing. I know money related stuff for some things and they annoy me, but they throw around the different budget argument too but I know they ust made a massive saving on staffing. Two people have retired recently who were on £25k approx. One person who was on about £23k approx left and another at around £19. We filled all those places with people on £14k and they say "theres no money in the bduget" BOLLOCKS. Thats a £36k saving right there. I know that 2 of those people will now be pension related costs too but blah! They just spending £1800 to send myself and co on this course. ANNNNND they are spending some money out of some magical other budget to do some gardening and get rid of a few trees dispite the fact they keep telling us how poor we all are and the "lucky to have jobs" stuff they feed us eveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery time. Addditionally they sent everyone an email about getting on the Fianl salary pension scheme befor ethey closed it to new people. ive been on it for years. But say out of 20 people in one department, only 8 were on it. Now they sent the email out all of them are on it.. OHCRAP the budget has taken a hit cos more people need that pension now. MAYBE they should have budgetted for EVERYONE to be on it, then when in reality only 8/20 are on it they can make themselves look good and save money. but NO, apparntly they have to do it in a way that they now have to find more money! SMOOOOOTH MOOOOVE o nameless company for whichg I work.

Anyhoo, Im done, going back to STALKER (seeing as ive pacthed my game to version 1.00005 and downloaded the "Oblivion Lost" version mod (with new guns, better graphics, AI, vehicles etc)

Nice to have my bike back. As much as I hate paying for the services and MOT etc it certainly runs smooth and sounds good afterwards. The new shiny front disc is still bedding in with its new pads n all that.. But wooooo the engine runs nice and smooth and it just sounds cooler. Looking forward to see what the mpg is after a service, normally it improves a bit.

tralallala

The English Dub of Ah! my goddess is ok. Its about as sickly as you'd normally expect BUT I can say that yes Skuld is faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar more annoying than I remember her being. That said, its the same stuff that is happening as the manga (in shorterened form), although as I can hear her voice her whole attitude comes across more bratty than it does when it is simply read in a manga. (though she was still bratty, its just far more clear to me now.)

Also Mara's voice is that of the English dub of Naruto (as far as I can tell) so thats funny too.

Nothing else going on. Tidied up my shelf a bit and sorted out a box or random tools/keys/locks etc that have built up. Might move some stuff around at the weekend. Tralalala

tralala [14 Sep 2009|10:21pm]
SOooo back to work for me tomorrow. Ive had about 13 days off I think. Twas boring atthe start, then I got STALKER and it was entertaining.

Ive also bought some new clothes. Seeing as Im inevitably using all of the money I would normally be saving next month to pay for my bike and more I just went abod bought some new stuff.

new pairs of jeans and 3 tshirts (well ones a shirt thingy). The Autumn lines just hit the stores and im pelased to see that Military is back. Cos it means all my military stuff is cool again. Plus I can buy stuff now that i can wear for the well, ages. Found a really nice jacket in House of Fraiswassit. But it was £220 so fuck that. Ill settle on a HnM one for like £60. BUT i couldnt decide on dark green or black. But i passed on both anyway, I need to buy some more jeans. i just got two new pairs and Ive taken some of my older ones the the charity shops. Soooo now I have 3 decent pairs and 3 work type pairs. BUt i still want some decent ones for work. I need to find some ones I like that arnt too flashy. Good thing the Autumn stuff is all dark/black. means Ill stock up now instead of being pissed off at not being able to find any in summer in black.

Ho hum

stuff lalalala

back to work as I said. hope I wake up on time.

Bike MoT [12 Sep 2009|02:36pm]
Had the MOT, it passed ok. Basically cos the thing I knew it wouldnt have passed on I ordered in advance and had fitted as part of the service prior to the MoT itself. Huzzah.

bad news (for me anyway) is the cost!

Sooo what was done:

Pro coolant £10.50
oil Filter £9.85
Rear Tyre £86
x2 Bearings £24.40
Front break p[ads £14.35
Front disc £110.80
Air filter £14.86
Comp 4 £19.47
Disposal of rear wheel + rebalancing etc £6.50

= £284

£117 labour
+ VAT
+ £29.20 for the MOT.

= £490

BOO!

brb crying!

Well thats significantly more than I was expecting (but then I wasnt expecting a rear tyre or bearings).
Still, glad to have it back, everything is clean and shiny. Things move differntly. The engine sounds slightly different, the front disc looks shiny as fuck and its all just generally super and unlikely to overheat and expload superheated coolant over my leg again anytime soon.

Still

£490!

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

well, thats my savings this month gone (and some of next months).

anyhoo, back to STALKER for me.

paperwork bonanza. [10 Sep 2009|11:27pm]
[ mood | calm ]

Hmm, In sorting out my room a bit I found one of those general boxes of paperwork you always just bring with you when you move house and assume is important because you havent already thrown it out.

Well withing that treasure trove of crap I have discovered:

University acceptance letter
Receipts for all my tuition fees.
Doctors letters for when I was depressed at Uni.
Letter from the police asking me for a statement from my accident dated 30 july 2003.
Random £11.59 receipt from 1997 in which I bought fairly liquid, some ribena etc that was stapled in a folder.
A few copies of Viz and FHM circa 1998-2004 ish.
Sailor moon 2002 calender
Evangelion 2000 calender
Chobits 2003 calender
3*3 Eyes 1998 calender
FHM sex guide
various FHM "sexiest women in the world" 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001 etc
FHM carnival of the grotesque magazine
Cyber city oedo 808 on VHS
Bag full of multiple con books for Amecon 2004, Aya 05 and subsequent Ames.
Minami con, con pack contents from minami 10 ish onwards. (I know where the older ones are)
Shit loads of anime posters from a Megami magazine. (of stuff like DaCapo and a load of shit I dont know)
Loads of FHM pages of various female stars from Buffy, star Trek, xfiles, babylon 5 etc.
500 or so Magic the gathering cards (up to around Urza's saga)
Pictures/postcards of Queen Amidala etc
More assorted crap, pics of womens, NIN, flyers, magazine pictures cut out that used to be on my wall.
Bath University Sci fi society folder (general stuff like accounts, member lists, budget etc)
Every single Sci fi soc newsletter from 1998-2001
List of all the films we showed, various other things I wrote for the society.
Optimus Primes (masterpeice convoy) card trailor.

What a fun evening! For my troubles I now have uber sneeing due to house dust.

Ive also had a quick go through my wardrobe and I am going to get rid of a few towles Ive had since 1997, some assorted bagggy skater trousers and a couple of thsirts that would have fitted me circa 2005 when I was 14 stone.

hair cut and new jeans
I has them.

S.t.a.l.k.er
ZOMG! Fun. I have more money than I know what to do with and a nice assortment of guns. ive only now started using anomolies or artefact things as I only now figured out how to equip them lol. Yay for 600% regenerating health or _60% radiation whenever I need it. i also appear to carry waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much. fallout 3 spoils you by not having any weight on ammo. This allows me to stride across the waste with 2000 shotgun shells and 6000 5mm chain gun ammo amoungst others. In stalker I have to limit myself to a handgun, a main rifle (with scope) and a differnt rifle and about 200 rounds for each weapon just in case the area im in has enemies that use a different type of ammo. Also now I have regenerationg health I dont carry around like 25 health kits and 60 bandages. no wonder i never had room to carry shit... I had like 10kgs or meds!

Right, well back to it. Chernobyl isnt going to explore itself!

Dont actually have it back as yet, but I had it booked in with a service. Currently whats being done to it is the following:

New front disc
new pads
new rear tyre
new rear wheel bearings
new air filter
new oil filter
new coolant
fixed the fan (fuse)
general service

Still sadly waiting on the front disc to arriveas the guy who just phoned let me know it hadnt arrived yet. Hopefully be arriving shortly as I dont want to have to be commuting by bus next week. Speaking to the guy it looked like it would be about £375 approx all in. I wasnt expecting a new tyre and bearings, but I guess its one of those things. Its the second tyre Ive had on the rear ever and while it would pass the MoT wityhout it, I may as well get it all changed now while they have the back wheel off doing the bearings etc. Plus it means my bike is all good to go for the winter! Huzzah!

(brb crying over the £375 cost)

fallout 3
I bought the expansion "point lookout" the other day via game for windows live. Was annoyed to find it in town today along with Broken steel on a disc version. But oh well. I'd rather own the game on a disc for resale value etc if I ever resell and just to have on a shelf rarther than having to download it each time, but Ive already downloaded them all anyway so meh! Still I greatly enjoyed Point lookout as it was in a whole new area and featured next to no pissing about in identikit underground sewers etc. The rednecks in the area reminded me very much of the "hills have eyes" and the main plot was fairly entertianing. As was all the cival war related stuff and the Chinese spy aspects of the quests. Because the whole area was different to the capital wasteland too it was all new and shiny. It was good to see some of the darker humour make its way back into the game too. I especially liked getting high on those plant spores and the trippy halucinations I had all the way back through the trials area. Plus I got a bad ass scar on my head too! (oh and a new outfit and all the cival war hats i could need)

Im currently still mooching around in fallout 3 just doing what I usually do, walking from one end of the world to the next killing raiders and stuff and helping out random Brotherhood of steel and Outcast patrols. One thing Ive noticed though because of my expansions is the presence of albino radscorpians facerapes a lot of the npcs. Ive stumbled acorss dead caravaners here and there that have been killed by said radscorpians... this annoys me as I invested in thier companies via Cantebury Commons! Stop living your lives in game and living in a real world environment where stuff goes on around me when Im not there! I cant protect you if you do stuff! Fools!

Anyway, in playing it I found myself thinking more about survivalish stuff. Like if I lived in that environment where would I set up my home. Would I try and live in one of the cities like Rivit city or Megaton or would I be more like one of the wondering scavengers? What would I do for food, how would I survive, what skillz if any could I use to pay the billz. In game terms I could be a mechanic, or a doctor given my stats in those fields.. but in real life, if it were actually me there? I dunno, maybe joing the BoS? Its nice to find little groups of people living in random nooks and crannies around the wastes and now Im in to something like hour 200 of play Im finding stuff I hadnt seen before that amuses me.

These include:

Raiders having a mole rat race
Some guy who invented ultra meat by combining superglue with mole rat meat
A room full of plungers and a neatly stacked pile of books and a cup on pencils.
Stuff like a guy rigged with explosives.

and loads and loads of depressing evidence of people just trying to live in the shit hole that the world has become. I use the word trying there for a reason as more often than not I find them dead. Either killed by raiders or something out of the wilderness like a Guai.

I also now finally picked up a copy of stalker- shadow of chernobyl as I cant argue with £1.99. I shall play that in a sec once it finishes loading.

Girly day of Fun
had a girly day of fun with Emma from work last thursday. Twas a good day, starting with the joy of gossip and breakfast at whetherspoons before shopping trips to the usual hang outs such as Boots to try purfumes and stuff, all the usual clothes shops where Emma tried on a really trashy hooker like coat on top of her normal stuff and I sadly didnt clock that she had it on and she was vaugely insulted that I didnt notice how ho like she was dressed. (some trashy fake fur short coat). We also looked in the pet store and I found a sweet hermit crab set up for £130 or so, but they only had one budgie there and no cool Quails. I cry! After walking around getting icecream and assorted other snacks we went to a pub again at 3ish and shared a bowl of nachos and cokes. We then chatted about the usual crap before parting ways at 4ish. Huzzah, a good day full of entertainment! Not like the rest of my break so far!

Gym- operation member of the month
Last time I weighed myself at the gym I was 69kg (<11stone). I was pleased with this, but as today I have had all I can eat chinese I expect I wont be anymore! I went to the gym earlier yesterday but forgot schools had gone back, so there were lots of teenage BROS doing stuff on all the weight areas downstairs. i didnt mind overly as I just did random crap upstairs like cardio and leg exercises, but I had planned on doing chest!

internetz
Internet has been shit the last few days, continually dropping out or being stupidly slow (we went over our download limit and it auto gimped us to something like 128k from 10gigs. It makes browsing impossible and at certain times of the day it just outright refuses to connect prolly cos the modem we have laughs in the face of what is effectively "high speed diall up". Especially when 4 pcs are connected to it. Hellz yeah! It seems to have ungimped now we have gone past a day wheere we seemingly downloaded about 10gigs in on go pushing usover our 50gig limit for a few days (rolling 30 days) but it still occasionally drops out. Glad Im not playing any MMORPGs anymore or Id cry! Still it makes for browsing 4chan annoying amd i cant update my facebook profile as much.

rah, well I am deeply deeply bored but I now have STALKER to play. Assuming it doesnt crash all the freaking time like I read it does that should entertain me and my post apocolyptic mood for the next few days.

Vote Quimby.

Exciting combo picture post! [03 Sep 2009|09:49am]
[ music | ashbury heights : penance ]

Im off work for two weeks atthe moment. How fun! I am sure I will be bored shortly but at least for the last few days Ive been entertianed. How I fare after Friday when its anyones guess as to what I do we shall see!

Monster maker
The other day I built a vinyl kit for [info]zerebubus as while he enjoys painting them and doing the plastic tanks and plane type kits he is not so used to working with vinyl.

Bike funs
Well the other day I had that issue with my bike so I stripped down the affected parts and had a look at them all. i alaso cleaned it all up in general seeing its due for its MOT tomorrow. I even took the bike down into the shop on SATURDAY last week to order the parts Id need. They phoned me yesterday to order them and said they would take 7 days. yeah! thats why I came in on Saturday! nrrgh!

Anyway, Im still expecting around £300 bill minimum for whatever it is they do to it. Hoping nothing else goes wrong or needs replaceing other than the prementioned parts.

Bathroom fun
Ohh I feel so grown up (and a bit miffed I dont own the place). The toilet was leaking ages ago (well for a year or so) very minorly but we had it fixed. However as it had been doing it for so long the water drips after each flush soaked the tiles a bit and they started to peel. The colour was bad too. I dont know its like the tile colour should be listed as "dirt covered sawdust". Well after hitting up Homebase and seeing how cheap self adhesive vinyl tiles are I splurged on £14 worth and spent teh vast majority of yesterday afternoon/evening redoing the floor. Which first involved having to tear up all the old tiles and cleaning the surfaces. then after applying my own tiles I had to reseal everything. Fun!

I have succeded in making the floor look very clean at the same the same time as making the paint in need of attention. Wo... possible job for tomorrow!

sweet ass cat
Oh yes, a house down the street has a couple of very very nice cats with FREAKY BLUE EYES. They occasionally come into the hosue but are very timid. When i was cleaning my bike I had some chicken out next to my tools. I popped inside to read something online about the fan and when I went back my chicken was gone and the cat was in the bushes watching me.

There are actually two. one is grey and the other a soft brown. They have the same markings and are both freakily slim.

Well, YOU might have a stupidly expensive TV thats worth loads, but I dont :P

Right I had better get dressed now as Im going into town for breakfast, gosspi and shopping type funz with Emma from work.

Bike overheat coolant explosion funz [28 Aug 2009|09:35pm]
[ mood | cynical ]

Exciting bike related fun this evening due to bank holiday weekend traffic!

Was coming home from work and got stuck in traffic on lower Bristol road. It was raining and I wasnt really fussed with getting home quickly so i just sat in the traffic like the other two bikes behind me who had made thier way to the same palces as me but couldnt really get any further.

After about 5-10 minutes the temp warning light came on. Usually I can hear if the fan comes on on the back of the radiator but due to the weather I couldnt tell. I saw the light so ontepmltaed pulling over and just stopping for a bit (or heck, even pushing the bike along the pavement!) but I wasnt far from the junction and traffic lights that was cauing the disruption. Litteraly less than 3 mins from home if I was riding normally so I though meh Ill get home as I was only 5 metres from the traffic lights lol after which I would be moving normally and the bike would cool.

Well I was wrong! idling without moving without additional cooling from motion meant that my bike was using a looooot more coolant than normal. As stuff heats up it expands so all the coolant in the system had expanded and the expansion chamber/coolant reservoir was now FULL! (its normally <1/4th full). Obviously with the coolant reservior full and no space left in the system something had to give so apparently one of the tubing clamps at the top of the engine popped off and all the superheated coolant exploaded out over my leg. The smoke was a combination of the obvious heat and where it contacted the exhausts it made it all white like a magic harry Potter spell had gone off around me. Much to the amusement of the two bikes behind me. :P

I wasnt burned as I had thick motorcycle trousers on and it was raining. But it was annoying to have the bike go like this. I pushed it home up the hill (which took ages) and ive cleaned it all up and reattached the blown rubber tubing and reclamped it.

Going to book it in for its service tomorrow and order the parts I needed (front n rear break discs) to get its MOT done. (Due on the second). Wooo I anticipated this for 2009 and actually have 2 weeks off this time.. instead of the MOT expiring without me noticing the day after I finish an 8 day break! (nevAr again!) This means at worst I only have to use public transport 2 days. score!

I was expecting MOT to costs approximately £300 incl parts n labour estiamted @ £120 front disc, £45 rear disc, £15 new pads et, £30 for MOT itself + remainder is labour and sundries costs assuming nothing else needs doing. Then its a 12000mile big ass service in febuary.
