work (stupid customers) bike (breaks), ffx love, [06 Jul 2009|09:07am]
[ music | laura's theme - silent hill 3 ]

Bike
Last week I managed to spend a while fitting all the parts to my bike that I needed to replace after the German tourists broke it when they drove into me. This task took waaaay longer than I anticipated as it turned out the part I had to fit needed holes drilled into it for the numberplate to hang from. I needed to remove the passenger handles on my bike as well as 90% of the body kit just to get to the screws that held the whole thing on. Add in some seized bolts and rewiring the indicators which had a habit of working.. so then you put it all back togetehr and then they didnt work. Similar incidents what you had was an extremely annoying 3 hours of cleaning, tweaking and polishing.

Ths plus side is now my bike is all shiny. I discovered that the radiator was manufactured by KTM and my chain is now shiny.

Plus I got to see what my bike looked like without any body kit on it. Which is startelling similar to this:

You can ride it like that. Its just not very comfy.

As I mentioned on Facebook.. the very next day on the way to work to breakpad on the rear wheel tore loose. Now the bike is back at the shop having the breaks bled, the pistons moved back and a new pad fitted. This sshouldnt cost tooooo much.. I am hoping that no other work needs to happen as it should be £15 for the pad. £10 for oil, plus labour. All in I am hoping it comes in between £70-100 though obviously I would like it to be faaaaaaaaar less.

Monies

I actually made a relatively nice amount of interest last month (compared to usual) It almost offsets completey the cost of my overdraft so i feel less guilty about having an overdraft when I have savings when I could clearly pay off the damn thing no problem. This interest was due to the new accounts that I opened up and shifted cash here there and everywhere. Granted I dont have as much cash I as i would have liked at this stage (mostly due to unforseen bike costs like the battery a couple of months ago, the germans and now these breaks). Still, by next month I should hit approx 4.5k so THEORETCIALLY should still be on for 6k by Xmas.

Seeing as people tell me I am a miserable git and should go spend some cash (mostly people at work). I thought id go out and randomly do some stuff. I went to TGIs last week on my time off and additionally a new All you can eat Chinese. I also bought a few DVDS (which I have since watched and added to the rest). Spending it on food didnt make me feel any different so I guess what works for one person doesnt work for me cos I dont give a shit and see it as a waste even though I enjoyed the food.

The chinese i went to had music on while I was there and whilst gathering ma foodz I was shoucked to hear Suteki da ne from FFX being played. I enjoyed eating my ribs and assorted chicken dishes to this and commented when I left. the girl at the desk said it was a Chinese CD (which clearly it wasnt) and she gave me some random Chinese CD. Which i have yet to listen to, but I dont expect Suteki to be on it.

This bring sus onto replaying FFX. Since [info]tyris_flare is visiting [info]ffenics is replaying FFX so we can all enjoy it. Amsuingly everyone is captivated by it and we all take turns playing it. We have it on the big telly in the lounge and we have 5 people just watching it at the same time. We are about 6 hours in at the moment and I think the last thing we did that was plot related was play Blitzball for the first time, Auron just turned up and showed off his shaven armpits and Seymore just pwned everything with Anima.

I'd forgotten how freaking great it is/was. Well tell a lie.. I only have 3 playstaion 2 games. Killzone, Gran tourisimo and FFX.

The music is great too.

work - "the customer is always right stupid"
Same as ever, though I was greatly amused by something recently regarding on eof our mor eannoying customers. One of those they dont actually know what they are asking for types. They ask for something thats impossible because thier samples are not that clean. We tell them, they ignore us. We say "fine" and do it anyway, and 5 days later when we get the result it fails. We repeat it on something that would pass and in the subsequent 5 days we get a result that result isnt good enough so they complain. Or that it took too long. We say "ok, let us do it our way first up twice and youll get your result quicker". So we put it on appropriate dilutions for the sample and do it another time on a similar dilution that would back up the first but would allow it to be dirtier. The results we get are higher than what they wanted because the sample hasnt been sitting around for 10 days and thus is more accurate than it is if its repeated (due to bacterial activity).

Sooooo in effect because they challenged us they are now getting a more accurate result that is worse than the one they would have got if they just shut the hell up.

Ill explain it with numbers anyway but I doubt anyone is reading. GCSE Exams, you had 3 levels. The top level you could get A, B, C, but if you scored too lowly you could fail. Second level you could get B, C, D, E but score too lowly you could fail. Third level you can get C, D, E, F but I think its hard to fail. So you only put people who are likely to pass well on the first level. BUT they can fail if they arnt good enough. This is similar with the BOD test.

The sample we did was a final effluent from a well known shithole of an area. The consent limit for the sample was 12mg/L02. On the dilutions they requested we were getting 8> which is useless. So we'd repeat it and get something like <9 or <11. the less than result is "useless" to them as they need to see an actual result. So they asked us to do it again. As I said when the sample is a few days old the results are not as meaningfull. When we did them first up twice we get results of 16/20mg/lO2 which is greater than thier consent BUT accurate. They asked for us to repeat these but we dont need to as we did it twice to start with so we have two results backing up that. SOOOOOOO if they had just shut up they would have had results of around 10 but because they got all antsy now they are getting a more accurate result BUT it fails its consent.

There isnt anything they can do to change this and we (well me) laughed sooooooooooooooooooo hard. Teach them to mess us around.

HA.

Anne summers visit, day of fun etc [25 Jun 2009|10:38pm]
Had a random day of fun today with Emma from work today.

usual deal:

breakfast at Whetherspoons
gosspi catch up
clothes shopping
bank visit
sitting around looking at pigeons (and bike watching for me) in the sun/park
pet shop visit
random shop visits.

She needed some stuff for a hen party of one of her freinds so we popped into Anne Summers. I was dissapointed to only get a 6/7 on the love tester (Im hot stuff apparently). I put this down to not having sweaty enough hands.

Anyway whilst there I made a shocking discoverey! Strawberry flavoured edible body paint is 890 calores a tube! and it has 70g of carbs in it. While the chocolate and white choc varieties are only 550 calories they have 170g carbs per tube! While I know of several people I would happily eat that off of.. Id have major food related guilt after for the calorie damage and carbs. OH THE DILEMA

Other stuff was eating icecream, chatting to Valentine and trying to find pink/purple clothes reasonably priced in all the clothes shops. The pet shop DID have rabbits in it this time, but only two birds. (loadss of hamsters). Was a pretty fun day out and I finished it of witha trip to the gym and a Aya con committtee meeting online.

Boring Harley Davidson talk. [20 Jun 2009|10:28pm]
[ mood | cheerful ]
[ music | lady gaga, paparazii ]

Went to Riders of Bristol today to look at some bikes and this time I wasnt run over by German tourists like last week.

Did a little bit of tyre kicking and talked to a guy there about a coupel fo Bikes. The poser mobile (iron 883) that harley released this year to draw in the non harely crowd/get a younger market was out of stock cos lots of people have bought them. Dispite that I actually only wanted to sit on them and see how they felt. Seems the marketing they pulled worked.. cos it worked on me. Im about 10 years too "early".

Did the standard sort of bike talk about service intervals, tyre wear, running costs, tank range, options and what my riding style is and my riding needs. End result was I sat on a few of the older 883 of the second hand variety. I said I like the cut of the fenders on the new iron and the single seat so he showed me around the corner to a differnt bike in the same sportster family. Twas the Nightster. (or the XL1200N) I sat on that and it was very comfy! I liked the single seat better and the back end all looks a lot neater. Im not totally sold on the size of the petrol tank and its relatively small capacity (12l). that would kick out about 100 miles between refils apparently. I currently get by on my bike approximately every 120 miles (till reseve) with 9 litres approx of a 15 litre max. That isnt the issue really. i dont do long distance riding where that would be a major issue and if i really cared i could just get a custom part and stick a 17l tank on there making the profile a bit more beefy.

Anyhoo, the Nightster in question I sat on was a 2007/08 one (I forget) it had done 2000 miles and was a demo machine. New it would cost £6700. It had a stage one engine tune and £1000 of aftermarket exhausts. It was £6900 approximately. (showing how well Harleys retain thier value). tehcnically it wasnt the colour I would have wanted but on reflection I think its actually cooler that the black variant simply cos it looks less like its trying to be something. (plus the colour scheme matches my current leathers lol)

I must say I am sorely temped and have been spacking about with a calculator working out how much it would cost using X amount of my savings, trading in my other bike, not trading in my old bike and using more savings, finance this, finance that.

I dont want to buy it( logical, saving mind), but I do at the same time (new toy, fun, its a freaking harely I can actually afford it). Its somewhat annoying. Pretty sure i wont actually buy it. I need to win the lttery and tehre are other bikes Id also like too (like KTMs) ah well.

opinions?

(oh incase that was tl:dr its a 1200cc)

Oh and while I was there eating burgers and fries in the cafe and generally hanging around I saw some really really nice bikes. Including obviously lots of harlEys several of which sounded like a shotgun going off when started and they backfired) but some smarmy git had a 2009 KTM990 Adventure R.

A type R...

the cock

I bet he uses it as an every day bike as well

which would be fine if every day he did the DAKAR rally..

Lady gaga

I got home from Bristol at about 5pm. Ive been listening to Paparazzi on loop for 5 hours now.
Fuck yeah. That chorus is dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmn sweet

Also Fuck yeaaaaaaaaaaaah dispite sometimes having a mannish face and odd nose... shes hawt hawt, DAT ASS hawt and I love her outfits/hair/makeup.

Do they do that odd yellow mickey mouse type face catsuit as a skinny fit tshirt?

White van man and poorly loaded carpet adventure. [17 Jun 2009|08:04pm]
attention white van drivers!

If two or three rolled up carpets dont fit in the back of your van normally.. get a bigger fucking van! Do not try and drive with them limply hanging out the back door halfassedly (with the door tied semi closed).

The fact you tied a high vis jacket to the end makes shit all differnce when the whole 10 foot fucking roll plops out of the back as you're driving.

Spotted the tool in question on the dual carriage way as I caught up with him at the lights. Saw his shitty load and thought "fuck if Im following that" so dropped right back and followed from a safe distance. By the time I got into Bath (past mcdonalds and pc world) I had two cars between me and him but in traffic I could see the carpet getting lower and lower and less in the van. Sure enough just at the Traffic lights near sainsburies garage it fell out completeley and the camper van in front beeped his hrons massively as he stopped suddenly before then dutifully getting out of the car and moving the entire fucking roll to the side of the road.

I am sure in about 10 minuets down the road the other will also fall out and poor little white van man will be all confused at where his prolly actually quite expensive rolls of carpet are (and how he hadnt killed anyone).

Additonally i am knackered for some reason so will be going to bed early instead of 1:30 like last night. yay IRC

bike

Had a call back from the shop on sourcing the pricses for all the bits broken. Most of the stuff isnt in stock and will have to come from yamaha Europe or something but its along the lines of.

Ive passed on some parts that are only superfically damaged or functional but duct taped together. Ill get the parts ordered in in about 7-10 days then fit it all myself to save on around £30 labor charge. While none of its particularly difficult to fix the main part does involve the removal of the entire rear plastics of the bike. That will take me around 30 mins to fit at least and Id rather do that myself than pay a garage to do it given the costs.

For now the only monor irritation is the rattling sound from the rear and the fact the bent clutch lever is annoyingly shaped and thus uncormftable.

FF14 and from that FF11 memories

Looks amaaaaaaaaaaazing and has cat girls. A lot of the onlder members of FFXI I used to play with years ago have looked at it and there is a certain amount of buzz about all starting on the same server from scratch as newbies together.

One of the great things about early FF11 was the sense of adventuire and exploration. Before you get to a level where its level grind or the desire to get gear, kill the biggest things, grand wyrms was the simple act of adventuring. Thinking about it I recall some of my faveroute things back in the early days was adventure.

Seeing my First notorious monster when duoing with my friend Tinvi. It was spiny sepipi.
Hitting the grand level or 13 or so and getting [info]lunameth to take myself and [info]ilpala to Sandoria via the mhaura ferry through Valkrum. The difference in appearance from Windurst was spectactular. The woodland surrounding Sandoria (and the music in particular). This was back before our chocobo license too so it was walked at normal speed.

Spending the day duoing the kazham keys quests with lani [info]ilpala. We had already got the keys from Giddeus but the majority of that saturday was spent at our dizzy heights of level 20 riding our chocobos over what seemed the WHOOOOOOOOOLE world to strange new places where we made our way into dungeons and caves we had never been in beofre fighting new enemies some FIVE levels higher than we were. *shock* i remember our joy at a key on pretty much the first key dropping mob we killed in Bastok. Then it was only another 15 minutes or so before we turned up another.

Stuff like finding a Crag for the first time and touching the teleport crytsals

blah blah blah I had more but I went upstairs to eat breakfast then got distracted talking to [info]tyris_flare and now I cant be bothered to finish what i was saying.

So yeah, FF14 looks shit hot and I can still be a mithra

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

I already escaped once.

Tune back in 2010 when Im complaining about Italian botters, staying up to 4am each night killing dragons and living my life off energy drinks, doritos, sleeping under tables and putting on 3 stone.

Anyhoo

Today is my day off. I need to go rto the bank, the gym and play oblivion a lot.

erm..

Stuff!

Anotehr bike accident. go me! [13 Jun 2009|02:19pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

Bleah

Was on my way to Bristol for a quick motorcycle jaunt (to look at Bikes lol) when I was waiting in Traffic at a junction. A car behind me pulled up pretty close at the junction where I was giving way.

Then when the road was clear for me to pull out I put the bike in gear and they then drove into the back of me knocking me over..

I am not hurt!

This was done whilst stopped. They partially rolled over the bike (but not me).

A look over the bike shows the following damage:

clutch level (bent) (£20)
Rear indicators (both broken) (£15 each)
Tail light (damaged) (£15)
Number plate holder (bent cracked twisted and hanging off by electronics) (£60)

The back tyre seems fine so hopefully so is the rim. I cant see any flatspots as it was a very slow collision I doubt anything was done.

Im somewhat annoyed but at present Im looking at the costs of repair (already taken it to a shop to be looked at superficially) so Ill decide if I want to faf around claiming insurance etc.

For now though I have to get the bike road legal again which means reattaching everything as best i can with DUCT TAPE till I can get it all fixed.

FUCK YEAH WEEKENDS

Money crap, Biker gang/Harley show, pet names [06 Jun 2009|08:39pm]
[ mood | annoyed ]

Annoyingly I just dropped a chocolate wrapper on the floor on the way home from the shops. Bending down to pick it up I then instead dropped a £4 bottle of smirnoff ice. Booo and indeed sucks.

boring money talk
Ho hum. I look forward to the day when I own nobody anything. However given the nature of life I imagine at some point there may be a possibility that I will owe someone huge amounts in terms of a mortgage. For now though I will repent for my sins of being some kind of overweight twat faced student type who blows all his money on shitty anime toys and DVDS and instead save save and save.

What with the restructure of my loan granting me an additional £1000 I have looked very hard at what I am saving at the moment. Some would say I already save too much and that is why Im such a miserable cunt. I think they just dont know me that well and the fact i had the money to spend wouldnt change that. My new goal for December is a certain amount of money (on top of what I already have. I would ay that yes.. its pushing it a bit but its entreely possible.

EASY MODE: £100/m (What I should have been doing at mimimum since I was 22)
NORMAL MODE: £200/m (This is what I basically have been doing since I paid for my bike last year)
HARD MODE: £300/m (What Ive been doing this year)
KNIGHTMARE MODE: £400/m (what I intend on doing till december).

When I pay off this loan the additional cash I will be able to save will push Normal mode into knightmare mode. Meaning I could save a retarded amount if I stay on Knightmare mode.

Anyway, when I look at it.. if I pay all my essential bills (gas, elec, rent, council, petrol etc) and save on Knightmare mode I am left with £150 approx with which to eat and entertain myself for a month. I think that, while a crappy amount with little fun factor is entirely possible seeing as students have been known to feed themselves for far far far less.

6 months of knightmare mode COULD put me in the position to pay off my loan (depending on how they work out the early closure interst reductions and charges).

Anyone have experience on living on that amount or less?

Dog names
A conversation at work turned up an idea that I would look amusing with a pet dog along the lines of the kind of toy dog Paris Hilton would have. I have no intention of actually getting one but I decided on one of the following names.

Optimus Prime
Mega Bastard
Devestator

Accidentally attended a biker gang event
Was on teh wya home from work today and I drove past a field next to a pub which is on my usual route home. Today it was FILLLLLED with harleys and assorted custom bikes. Turns out the Bristol based motorcycle gang called "Brothers MCR" was there having a mini show, beers, live bands etc. I parked up and had a look around at the 50-60 sweet sweet bikes including some old school triumphs, a trike, several stripped down classic harleys and a KTM LC4 engined 1950s style track bike. I did look somewhat out of place being neither in my 40s, balding, tattooed wearing full motorbike gang standard issue leather overcoat with the gang logos on it. i was dressed in sports bike/street bike leathers and boots with a "WATER" Hi vis waistcoat on over it.

I would have stayed for a hot dog and beer but i had to go home and didnt have any cash on me. I took a few pictrues on my phone I imagine will never come off (cos I lost the softwear). But it was cool all the same.

loan restructure. [03 Jun 2009|05:51pm]
I got a boring call from barclays earlier which seemed like one of those "we can do you a better deal" standard calls they make when you can retructure a loan and pay it off earlier (by paying more!).

I was sceptical but went in anyway as it was my day off and I was bored.

Anyhoo, Ive basically paid off the old loan, taken out a new one on a much better rate (8% instead of 14%). This is saving me £3 a month over my usual payments. I get one free month (£186). Plus I get the change left over from the paying off of the first loan up till the new amount. (£1000).

Soooooo, while technically I have exteneded my loan by 4 months.. if you work out the £3 a month savings and add it to all the other junk and minus the 4 months "extra" payments, Im still £600 better off for doing nothing at all.

This takes my savings to almost half what the new loan Plus interest is anyway. It is still my intent to pay this off earlier. I could theoretically have maaaybe paid off the old loan at the end of the year.. but I wasnt going to as it would have killed my savings. This way means I give a big kick to my savings straight away and I can still pay my loan off early anyway at the current rate of savings (which assuming I dont lose my job) will increase anyway as I get pay rises etc.

Its a bit confusing, but i feel it was worth the effort of walking into town.

I have a few more to send but I need some conformation from people on how many staff they have. Additionally i then need to play with the dropouts and see if I can move people from the waiting list into the room.

Wheee!

For now though, finish hanging out laundry, go into town and buy some frozen veg and the operation clean room/gym/oblivion until its time to sleep.

bikes, fallout 3, summer is here, gym, savings, usual shite [24 May 2009|08:36pm]
[ music | ashbury heights: waste our love. ]

Mood
far more upbeat than last month. No real reason for change as in there was no real reason for the negative mood. Cyclical! whee

What with EXPO this weelkend, livejournal has been a little on the slow side.

Gym
Nothing really of note. Ive managed to regain some of that lost motivation I suffered most of April and am back at it, eating far less icecream and cookies. Plus after a few personel training sessions ive picked up a few things that can challenge myself with again so i dont sit idly by in my comfort zone making no progress. Weight wise. No change really, kicking around the 72-73kg range as per "normal". Want to either get stronger and mor edefined and stay at that weight, or if that doesnt work, stay the current strength but at about 69kg.

new phone
On the way through town I popped into phones4U and ended up walking away with some sort of contarct phone (a Samsung U800) @~ 315 a month with X minutes and X texts free a month. This seemed a good idea at the time (and the salesperson was looovely) but upon arrival at home I suffered big time buyers remorse when I factored in how much I typially spend a month normally (<£5). facteored in with insurance so I dont get screwed if my phone gets nicked it was going top cost about £22 and thats the sort of cash i'd hate myself over. Soooo saturday i went back into town with the idea of returning it. A feat much harder than I though! It took me a good 3 hours to build up the courage to go back in and return it and much of that time was spent sitting on a bench about a stonesthrow (out of sight) of the shop front. They had to phone head office and all that and they offered me £120 cash to stay on the same deal (effectively making it £8 a month) but as appealing as this was it was still more than I was willing to pay. so my new phone and I sadly parted ways at this point. To be honest it didnt do anything any better than my current phone other than have waaaaaaaaay more memory, a camera flash and a better camera. Certainly nothing groundbreaking enough for me to want to pay the costs. maybe if I got a free laptop or a Xbox 360.. but meh!

So thats a pretty big paragraph to say "i dont have a new phone".

savings
Another hurdle as such!

Savings + trade in value of old bike =

Entry level Harley. I know Im not going to actually buy that.. But its nice to think I could!

Fallout 3
Ive put in about 95 hours on my good character (who hasnt completed anchorage yet) and about 68 hours on my bad character (who hasnt done Broken steel). It amuses me that I am still finding cool stuff.

- I found a raider that was dressed like a wastelander just chilling on the floor. She flagged as good NPC but was called a raider. I think it was a trick to lure you over to her so several well armed freinds could come and kill me when I "helped" her.

- I found a guy with a throwne built out of trash in a silly hat surroundded by radroaches. he proclaimed himselfking of the radroaches before I shot him.

-A few places here and there that are fairly well hidden as well as places I stupidly missed completely like the graveyard and a massive massive area full of ghoulified remnants of the Chinese military.

Today
its been such nice weather today. I popped out on my bike, I didnt travel far. Only to work to see neil and Lucy. I hung about for a bit and chatted before popping back the way I came but parked p by the river and ate some cheesecake. I stayed here for about 30 mins chatted to another biker about crashes, the helmet I had and his bike before heading home.

It occured to me that this year the weather MIGHT be nice enough over summer to allow me to actually wear *GASP* my Summer gloves. They didnt get a look in last year due to rain and a crummy summer.

Upon arring home I bumped into Ian who was just leaving. So accompanying him, I went up to the hills behind the house and sat around in the sun for a few hours reading "whatbike" and drinking smirnoff ice etc with Ste, clair and Ian. We then tottered back to the house past Co-op and restrocked more wine (clair), beer (ste + ian), bitchpiss (me) and got pizza while we sat in the back garden and read.

I then cleaned my bike to mark the end of a satisfyingly relaxing day!

Tomorrow my Sister is coming to visit for a few days. So we will be going to Bristol to look in clothes shops and at motorbikes as well as visiting Forbidden Plannet etc. I need to get to the gym before she gets here tomorrow but as its a bank holiday it will have shorter hours! bah!

Fallout 3 DLC [09 May 2009|09:16pm]
Playing the Fallout 3 DLC "broken steel" at the moment on Kneeboblers instead of Cunterson. Its shocking too see how many random people are still alive that I forgot even existed.

I dont have any new guns at the moment. But I have a cool looking Enclave Fire armour. Also seeing as im using Kneeboblers instead of Cunterson.. I realise that I need more ammo for my sniper rifle and additionally i cant carry crap anymore. (300lbs) mainly because Im NOT cheating!

anyway, once Ive sold all this crap, its back to the Citidel to report my findings. Assume I can walk across the waste without being killed by grenade throwing ghouls and some big ass albino radscorpians which take ages to kill.

Internet decided not to be working last night
Shocking.. with a lack of something to do to pass the time I decided instead to go to bed. Which might explain why I am up so early on my day off.

Dream
This one was rather good. Some kind of zombie apocolypse. i was living back in cornwall, but my old house was significantly better than it was. I recall the Simposns lived near by where my old friend Gavin used to live. Homer used the early warning system and shouted very loudly that he was setting fire to the zombies to delay thier advance.

In my old house we were dissapointed to find it wasnt very safe. BUT for some reason it was an old mill so there was a store room under the lounge. We cut down into that and built a panic room of somesort that had very very small amount of space in it for about 3 people. In the end though the zombies camse and started cutting thioer way into it anyway with some of the tools we had left upstairs when we constructed it. In the end rather than being killed by zombies we huddled around a grendae and blew ourselves up.

I then had exactly the same dream again but I escaped though some air vents.

PT session at the gym
Comprised of mostly lifting things. I think I lift about as much when I go on my own, I just dont get the advantage of someone spotting me when Im lifting heavier stuff. I also take longer and dont mix in pressups and the like as a superset with all the other srtuff I do. Also Spinner cycles blow because they are not comfortable and the gears (well difficulty) is in a really stupid place to adjust on the fly. Several times i went from cycling happily to full lock that made me fall out of the peddles before I had to start again. SMooooooooooooooooooth transition.

Ayacon
Dealer room layout pretty much approved. Except I need to talk to the venue again who seemed to have NOT answered the sodding question I asked them when I sent the layout in the first place. Also on the layout tables are 2m long, but in reality they are 1.82cm long. Thus every 5 tables or so I get a "extra" meter. As a result the changes to my layout were unneccesary and my "room for expansion" has been nobbled into "we've moved two tables to a retarded location and stolen one from here."

Blarg!

Todays plan consists of a combination ofthe following:

Laundry
Gym
Buying chicken, mince and some veg
Aya IRC meeting
Shower

wolverine and a haircut [01 May 2009|10:22pm]
[ mood | sleepy ]

Wolverine
Was ok. Im not in the mood to think anything is great, so the fact that it was ok means it didnt suck. Plus they used the "Im the best there is at what I do, trouble is what I do isnt very nice" line in it.

gambit didnt suck, Cyclops wasnt in it enough to make you want to punch him and Emma Frost was hawt, though will obviouslly be hotter if they make more movies with her in it wearing less.

haircut
I have had a hair cut. Its the shortest Ive had it in erm.. I dunno, since like umm 1999 or something when I started growing it. Im not quite sure how to wear it as its one of those bizzare modern cuts where you just push your fringe foward and let it do what it wants. I also dont have any sideburns at present.. so my head feels long and narrow. Once Ive washed it myself and played with it a while im sure I will figure out how I want to wear it so I dont feel like either a hitler youth/80s guy or some kind of bible salesman. or maybe an extra from the Lost boys.

Who knows. Give me 2 weeks and it will become the norm and I wont care.

Starting my 60 hour week tomorrow. woo

the last 5 days or so roundup. [30 Apr 2009|11:50am]
[ mood | okay ]

Recent events of note in the last few days/weeks.

Went to see Crank 2 dressed in a suit.
Watched "Outpost" (was good but the ending was "oh well, here we go agaaaaaaaaaain"
Watched "the mist" (was good, but could strip out the bit where they leave for the pharmacy and shave 20 mins off run time with no ill effects.)

Read all of Berserk up to October 2008. True I had read most of it before and rereading some of the more recent stuff I remember why I found it mostly unforgetable. That reason is.. I couldnt give two shits about the Kushuun (or whatever they are called) and find that plot arc crappy. The other characters within it are fine, the berskere armour is fine.. I just dont like the enemies.

Mike (Ste's brother came to visit) so we had lots of take away food last weekend. We also did some shopping and wore many silly hats and sunglasses in various clothes stores. I Skipped out on eating at Jamie Olivers food place because it seemed a lot of money to pay for what it was no matter how "good" it apparently is. I also played and lost 3 games of scrabble.

Gym
After a month of Minami con, other peoples birthdays, IRC meetings, chatting online, watching babylon 5, ice cream promotions and eating cookies, pizza, chinese all you can eat buffets, not going to the gym and feeling crappy I have put on a bit of weight. By a bit I mean about 2kgs. By this I mean no one but me would notice seing as I was 75kg in december anyway and still weigh less than that now. I just went back up to about 74ish from teh 71.5/72kg I was kicking around at for most of feburary/early march. Ive got back motivation and have started eating what I was eating like before (no 4 cadburies caramels for afternoon break type events) and exercising as I was previously. Already hlated the change and going back to my lower weight. I have a personal training session tomorrow at the gym.. not really looking forward to it as they tend to hurt.

Work
Due to a recent gap in the employment schedule it looks like I will be running ISP a lot more frequently than I was. This is because 2 out of the 6 total (including myslef) ISP operators are the only people who can run the Evolution and since one person has left that could it means they have to do that more often. To do that more often means less ISP for them and thus More for me. This would be good but we have had several issues with Sulphates the last couple of weeks leading to wholey depressing low output days where nothing is achieved. It seems to be "working" well enough yesterday.

Incidentally Work experience students if you are not interested in the slightest dont bother coming to the lab to look around. I cba telling you stuff when you are clearly not interested and look more of the type that was sent here by your school because we are nearby and you were too lazy to find something to do yourself. Drop out of school now and become a "Nail technition" and save us all the hassle of bothering to try and eductae you when you clearly dont give a crap.

Several new starters at work the last month or so. hawt.

I semi want to get my hair cut again. I am certainly in the mood for that kind of thing today, however a check of credit card reciepts and bank statements etc leads me to suspect that I had it cut on Febuary 9th.. and thats not actually that long ago to justify spending more cash!

Any suggestions for a change in style or a different cut may be taken into account.

In other news I have decided to stop caring again. Thats much easier than being angry/depressed. Worked for several years last time and its often interspaced with random weeks of euphoria and yay-ness.

For now though, I feel a need to run pointlessly, possibly watching TMF or MTV Dance or Crocodile Dundee 2 (which is always on). Then I will lift something repeatedly until failure.

I never really thought I would want a full size stuffed wild boar's head. But now ive seen one at the Antique shop at the top of the road I think it would look just dandy next to the radiator.

i need to wash my hands a hella lot to get rid of the musty/dusty residue from handling it.. but sadly there was no price on it. had it been something like £10 i think we would have a winner! but I expect its more likely to be in the £50-£100

Gym
Couldnt be assed weighing myself so instead just lifted and lifted and lifted. Thought Id try and get back to 34kg in each hand for bench presses that I was able to do a while ago. Currently worked way back to 28kgs so I dont think its going to be that long assuming Ikeep at it and eat right.
